Apparently someone has read this.

  • Jan. 22nd, 2009 at 4:34 PM

In fact, a couple of people. I was entirely unawares.

My email is the name of this account, using GMail. Send me something if you've read this post. Or preferably, if you have a Livejournal account, comment on this post or send me LJ's equivelant of a private message (if it has one. does it?).

Because I need ego++. You know it's true.

You know how I said Damii was the name of the planet that invented the world?

Damiite isn't a good citizen name.

So yeah.

Now it's Daiki. I actually went and made sure the name had a decent meaning this time, too.

Daikian is better. And someone is going to yell at me for doing this eventually. To you: feel free to say Damiite.

That is all.

Quick game idea: !secroll

  • Nov. 18th, 2008 at 10:51 PM

Game idea: IRC. Roll a d20 via bot, results are secret. You 'move along the board' according to how you rolled. If someone else thinks you're cheating, they say so. If they're right, you move back to where you were before roll, and then move 3x the difference between what you cheated. You get bonuses for guessing someone's a cheater of some type.

For example, you take your turn, saying !secroll. The bot messages you that you rolled an 8, publicly accepting that you rolled it. You decide that's good enough and say !move 8. Everyone accepts it.

Another example, you take your turn, sending !secroll. The bot messages you privately, 2. You decide that's much too low, and go for a modest !move 6. Everyone accepts it, consoling you on your bad luck so far.

Another example, you go on our third turn. You get a 4, and decide that if you take it it'll be nigh-impossible to win. You send !move 17, and some person with a grudge against you disagrees, sending !lastroll. Your secret is revealed and you move ( 4 - 17 ) * 3, or -13 * 3, or 39 spaces back.

Finally, later in the game after much bluffing, you get a 20 and you decide to take a trickier tactic. You send !move 12, and someone calls you out, ridiculously. You move ( 20 - 12 ) * 3, or 8 * 3, or 24 spaces forward.

Modifiers: Guns

  • Jul. 21st, 2008 at 10:11 AM

It's that time of the month again! Even though I really haven't been posting consistently every month. At the same time. So that joke kinda failed. Well, really failed.

...

It's another point in the month again!

...I think. )

This is pretty long and I'm tired now. I started this at ~1000 this morning and it seems to have taken a while (12 hours) to do it. I HOPE YOU LIKE IT.

the World: Champion Scale

  • Jun. 30th, 2008 at 11:29 AM

Here are some of the possible PC 'classes,' or things that you'll find as an ally. They have a short description with them, as well as requirements to be that level; and the lower down you go, the less powerful the things are. Lies and Strands are more or less equal, they're just opposites for what they do.

A list for you. )

Storytelling: Realism

  • Jun. 28th, 2008 at 6:45 PM

So, I've noticed that a disturbing trend in recent games I see, is 'realism'. Keep as close to reality as you can. Is that what the point of a game is, to go to another part of Earth? Oh, look, Africa. This is so fun; maybe I'll starve to death this time! Or perhaps even death from cancer! Woo! Really fun!

Mhmm.

So here's something you should look at, if you're still striving for realism. )

Modifiers: Vehicles

  • Mar. 17th, 2008 at 7:31 PM

Essentially, this is a set of modifiers you can use to outline war vehicles in games -- weapons aren't included, nor are things like hyperdrive, since those are somewhat different.  (Post script: It can be used for normal vehicles too, just ignore Armament.  And Armor, I guess.)

You take advantages, then penalties to balance them out.  I'm hesitant about weight, since the point of being light is actually covered in agility -- and so you could take heavy to be able to smash into other cars, and still be agile.  Maybe it should be replaced.

Happy St. Patrick's Day.

And I hope you all continue living unto next year's.  Especially with all that alcohol you aren't allowed to drink.

So this is life. It's been a while.

I'm thinking that I'll write up some game here.  Maybe it'll attract someone to read this.

So I've decided this is my life.

Yeah.  Maybe I'll post.  Maybe not.  But this has been around a while, and I feel like it, so I possibly will.

If I do, expect a lot of talk about random worlds I've made.  And HIVE.
